Corn
Corn
Corn is an energy cereal with a high content of starch and fat. It is devoid of proteins and certain vitamins. Moreover, it is rich in pigment which gives a good color to the yellow of the egg.
Corn grain is the world's leading food, widely used by breeders for decades. Its nutritional and economic advantages, from its cultivation to its harvesting and storage, make it a competitive product that helps to lower the price of basic food products such as milk and meat.
Almost three-quarters of the Corn grain production is consumed by animals, mainly poultry. Crushed and mixed with other raw materials such as soya or peas, it is used in flour and granules.
Corn is valued in animal feed for its high energy intake, and this is thanks to its richness of starch and the oil of its germ. It is the most energetic cereal. In aviculture, its assimilable energy is ahead of the one of wheat.
